Counterintelligence (CI) is both a shield and a sword. Essential for national security and homeland defense, CI defends against penetration by enemy forces and takes the offense to deter foreign intelligence activities.
Cutting-edge technology, analytics, and systems engineering are helping define the next generation of CI for the US military. Since 2005, Booz Allen has partnered with one military client to transform their counterintelligence capabilities from the physical realm, such as protecting the perimeter of installations, into the virtual realm to fully address emerging global threats.
Booz Allen’s expertise in digital media forensics and network engineering helped address the technological challenges associated with transitioning operations into cyberspace. Our team designed and deployed a hardened network infrastructure to support missions aimed to eliminate as many security risks as possible from a system by removing all non-essential software programs and utilities that could provide back-door access to a hacker or terrorist.
Booz Allen’s CI in Cyberspace capability enables joint missions with virtually all Intelligence Community, federal law enforcement, and military partners. Our work has been recognized with multiple Department of Defense- and national-level awards for innovative use of technology and excellence in counterintelligence analysis. The capability has also been adopted as a model for the creation of other CI in Cyberspace capabilities within the Department of Defense.
